Pick-me-up nutrition-dense hot chocolate
INGREDIENTS
1 chunk chaga
4 cups water
3 cups almond milk
½ cup raw cacao powder
2 tbsp maca powder
1½ tsp turmeric
Cup maple syrup or to taste
- Place chaga and water in pot and bring to a boil. Simmer for 10 minutes. The water will become dark brown as the chaga releases its nutrients. Remove chaga and freeze it in a small plastic bag (you can re-use it twice).
- Add all other ingredients to pot and heat through, whisking to dissolve any clumps. Serve immediately. You can keep any leftover chocolate milk in the fridge for up to 5 days and reheat gently before serving
