Apple pie overnight steel cut oats

VEGAN – GLUTEN FREE – OIL FREE

Wake up to the wonderful heart-warming smell of apple pie. We like these oats naturally sweetened with apples but you can top each bowl with a bit of maple syrup if you wish. Ground flax seeds or toasted chopped nuts make a fine garnish.

PREP: 10 MINUTES – COOKING: 8 HOURS – PORTIONS: SERVES 6

INGREDIENTS

1 cup gluten free steel-cut oats
3 cups almond or cashew milk
3 red delicious apples, cored and chopped into bite-sized pieces with skin on
1 tsp cinnamon
½ tsp nutmeg
¼ tsp cloves
    
PREPARATION
  1. The night before, place all ingredients in a slow cooker on low for 8 hours. Wake up and enjoy!
  2. If you don’t have a slow cooker, mix all ingredients in a medium saucepan, bring to boil and cook for 30 minutes, stirring regularly.
